Aileen Quinn was chosen to be Annie in the film version from 8,000 girls. The announcement was made in January 1981 by director %26#039;John Huston%26#039; (cv), who introduced Aileen as his Annie to the world on nationwide TV. _Annie 1982_ (cv) was filmed from April to September 1981. Aileen starred in one more movie after Annie, - _The Frog Prince_ (cv) - when she was about 14, but it was never released in theaters, only on video. Meanwhile, she continued to do theater. A family member was running the theater at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on the Army base there, so Aileen was invited to star in several productions there. In 1985 she was Dorothy in %26#039;The Wizard Of Oz%26#039;, and in 1986 she was Annie once again, except this time it was the stage musical. Opposite her as Daddy Warbucks was Harve Presnell, who had played the role for years on Broadway and in one of the National Tours. When Aileen was a senior in high school, she starred in %26#039;A Day In Hollywood, A Night In The Ukraine%26#039; in Bristol, Pennsylvania.





Ann ReinKing who played %26quot;Grace%26quot; starred in Micki + Maude in 1984. The film was led by Reinking, Amy Irving, and Dudley Moore. The film centers on Moore, portraying Rob Salinger, a man who impregnates two women and does the only honorable thing—marries them both. This romantic comedy is often hailed as Reinking’s best role, and marked her last appearance in a motion picture.





Reinking fell out of celebrity status until her mid-90s return to Broadway with Chicago. For her choreography of the classic musical, Reinking won the 1997 Tony Award for Best Choreographer. Throughout Reinking’s dancing and singing career, she earned three more nominations. Her first was in 1975 for Goodtime Charlie in the category of Best Actress. She went on to a nomination in the same category in 1978’s Dancin%26#039;, and was nominated one last time in 1999 for Best Director in Fosse.

Bernadette Peters has done a lot. I remember she was Annie Oakley on Broadway for a while in Annie Get Your Gun.





Albert Finney has done a lot as well...Erin Brockovich, Big Fish, Ocean%26#039;s 12, The Corpse Bride...
