My stargazer lilies started coming up early this year, I am in zone 8, Georgia. We had a freeze and the tops of the shoots turned brown and mushy. They are still growing and the new growth looks okay. But will this affect the flowers?
Will Stargazer Lilies bloom after they got bit by frost?
This has happened to my Stargazers in MN (zone 4 ) a couple of times and has never affected the blooms at all. That%26#039;s true of all my lilies, they%26#039;re tough like the early spring blooming bulbs are. I wouldn%26#039;t worry a bit.
Reply:The flowers should be fine - because they come out much later. The buds have not emerged yet.
